"Trump shares with Musk one remarkable trait—neither accepts the impossibility of success, even when faced with overwhelming evidence to the contrary." John Dean.
Trump and Musk are salesmen. They find ways to view situations in a win-win light, so even if they "lose" they will win. At the very least, Trump wrings sympathy from his base with his constant grievances.
"Always Be Selling" is a classic moral taught in sales classes. "Act Enthusiastic, and you will BE Enthusiastic" and "We will WIN. We have Faith, Courage, and Enthusiasm" --taught for generations. The quotes take on an entirely different meaning when used by people who short-cut the sales process with out-right, constant lies. Those types do not care about referrals or return business, because they are going for it all now.
Robert Louis Stevenson gets credit for the quote "Everyone sells something for a living." Staying open-minded to what might seem impossible is one way to practice a positive mental attitude (mind your PMA!). There are lots of honest salespeople. We know the importance of return business and referrals, and guard our reputations with honest service.
Musk and Trump are salespeople who LIE.
P.T. Barnum was absolutely right. A “sucker is born every minute”. There is always someone who will believe your lie. PT and DT both call such folks “suckers”.
Trump and MAGA continue to kill children daily. Fifty have drowned in an un-forecasted flash flood at a children’s camp in Texas. More are missing.
The Law of Unintended Consequences is at play. America has f*cked around and is now finding out.
“The National Weather Service’s San Angelo office, responsible for some of the areas hardest hit by Friday’s flooding, is missing a senior hydrologist, staff forecaster, and meteorologist.
The Weather Service’s nearby San Antonio office, which covers other areas hit by the floods, is missing a warning coordination meteorologist and science officer who are supposed to work with local emergency managers to plan for floods, including when and how to warn local residents and help them evacuate.
The office’s warning coordination meteorologist left on April 30, after taking the early retirement package offered by Musk’s DOGE to reduce the number of federal employees.
At both offices, the vacancy rate is roughly double what it was when Trump returned to the White House in January.” — Robert Reich, former Secretary of Labor.
Meanwhile, Trump tells you that everyone who does not agree with him hates you and that he is not their president. That is about 70% of the population.
Do you have kids? Ever send them to camp?
The next day of public national protest is July 17.
